Weapons are Found during the Arrest of a Suspected Al-Shabaab Terrorist in Lamu.

General Service Unit (GSU) officials in the Milimani region of Lamu County captured a terror suspect with connections to the al-Shabaab militia group on Monday.

The suspect is allegedly a member of a terrorist group that recently attacked a National Park Service (NPS) camp close to Boni Forest, a notorious terrorist hideout, according to the National Police Service (NPS).

In a cache of weaponry, the NPS claims to have discovered “one RPG launcher, one RPG hot warhead, one booster, and two booster housing.”

The previous foiled attack allegedly left him with a gunshot wound on his left leg just above the ankle, according to NPS.

The arrest, according to NPS, took place during an operation to drive out surviving al-Shabaab fighters believed to be hidden in the enormous Boni forest.

The suspect will remain in detention in the interim while a new manhunt is being conducted to find the remaining conspirators.
