Prof. George Wajackoyah, the presidential candidate of the Roots Party, has disclosed another strategy his administration plans to use to improve Kenya’s economy if he wins the election in August.
Wajackoyah, who has advocated for the legalization of marijuana and its commercialization for medicinal purposes, now claims that Kenya can profit from the lucrative anti-venom market by raising poisonous snakes and extracting toxins from them, allowing the country to produce antidotes locally and export them.
According to Wajackoyah, there is a ready market for anti-venom all over the world, and if Kenya can capitalize on the lucrative trade, it will be able to pay off its mounting debt over time.
“We’re going to start snake farming so that we can extract snake poison for medical uses.” Many individuals in this country are bitten by snakes, and we have to wait for snake dosages from pharmaceutical organizations outside the country,” the energetic presidential contender remarked on Citizen TV’s JKLive show on Wednesday.
Wajackoyah also mentioned that snake flesh is a delicacy in some countries, thus Kenya might invest in anti-venom production while simultaneously selling snake meat abroad to diversify its revenue streams.
“We have a lot of snakes and a lot of snake eaters in this country. One of the ways we plan to pay off debt is to take these snakes, extract their poison, manufacture anti-venom, and send the reptiles to other nations where they will be consumed “Wajackoyah remarked.
Marijuana and commercial snake growing, along with incentives to improve the country’s current economic infrastructure, will be the first priorities for Wajackoyah’s administration following the election, he added.
Wajackoyah has previously stated that he is prepared to face down perceived opposition to his unique proposals from some of the country’s citizens. “We have a lot of snakes and a lot of snake eaters in this country.
