Raila is being Attacked by DP Ruto over the Jacaranda chaos.

Deputy President William Ruto has launched an attack on Raila Odinga, the Azimio One Kenya presidential candidate, following the turmoil at Jacaranda grounds on Sunday.

The ODM chief, according to the second-in-command, is to blame for the violence at Jacaranda grounds, which caused police to fire tear gas canisters at a raucous gathering from the Kenya Kwanza and Azimio political camps.

DP Ruto accused Raila of using violence as a means to gain power ahead of the August 9 General Election in a hard-hitting tweet on Monday.

“Mr Kitendawili, so much for being clueless, rudderless, and planless about the challenges of our nation and the solutions thereof. The big question Kenyans are asking you, which you have refused to answer, is when are you going to stop using violence as your tool for seeking power???” wrote DP Ruto.

After a squabble between the two political camps over a double booking of the facility on Sunday, police officials were forced to close it down.

Meanwhile, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has written to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) requesting that Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai be summoned in connection with the shambles.

Azimio Coalition and its constituent ODM Party, according to UDA Secretary General Veronica Maina’s statement, employed the National Police Service to foment tension and disrupt the event.

They also demanded that the IEBC exclude Babu Owino, the MP for Embakasi East, from running in the August 9 elections for “planning violence” and holding his opponent’s campaigns hostage, in violation of the Constitution and the IEBC Code.

Babu is suspected of orchestrating the disruption since he previously stated that he had reserved the grounds on behalf of the Azimio camp.
