Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine: Advisers of FDA commend on use of vaccine

Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine brought relief to the world after being the first vaccine to prove over 90% efficacy in protection from Covid-19. The advisers of FDA are currently commending on the use of the vaccine.

During the voting process among the members of the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee, 17 members voted yes while four voted no and one declined to vote.

One of the members says the benefits of the vaccine outweigh its risks thus it would be the ideal vaccine to use.

Additionally several members reported concern on the allergic reactions caused by the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. The committee also states that the vaccine will have paperwork to warn any person with severe allergic reactions from getting vaccinated.

However, the vaccine has been approved by a number of countries including the United Kingdom.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee is required to decide whether the vaccine is fit for use.

Pfizer will further be required to fill an application form to get FDA approval of its vaccine.

Considering the rate at which the citizens of United States are dying as the infection cases continue to rise, the FDA will act fast on considering the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.

Meanwhile, President-elect Joe Biden is thankful to the scientists of the Pfizer vaccine for managing to develop it on time.
