Nakuru: Woman charged with killing fiancé

Branswet Wambui, 21 year old, is being charged with killing her fiancé. She has been released on a Sh800, 000 bonds at the court.

She was apprehended on the October 21 whereby a knife was recovered at the crime scene.

Wambui killed her fiancé by stabbing him to death. She has appeared before the Nakuru High Court for the hearings to which she is denying the murder charges. Her charge sheet read that she has stabbed her husband, Mwago, at Bismarck within Nakuru County.

Judge Hillary Chemitei, who is currently conducting the proceedings, says Wambui will remain detained at Nakuru GK Prisons. This is due to default in the payment of her bail.

The judge instructed the prosecution to produce all the required witness statements, documentary evidence and charge sheet to Wambui’s lawyer Kairo Maina.

The beginning of the trial of Wambui is set to February 8, 2021.
