Moi Girls High School Eldoret students are now on strike. The students have boycotted classes and called for the removal of their Principle Christine Chumba.

Moi Girls High School is among the top national schools within the country that records impeccable academic performance. In the past 2019 KCSE results, the school emerged at position 12 countrywide with an average mean grade of 9.65
According to a video currently circulating they accuse Chumba of harassment and mismanagement of funds.
Other issues raised are school computers break down forcing six students to share one and power outages at the school. The students also complained of broken printers yet they need to revise for their exams as they wave placards ate the schools gate.
Other accusations that Chumba faces are harassing and mistreating the teaching staff and not listening to the student’s needs.
The School Principle is currently held up in a meeting with education officials as police keep an eye on the students.
The strike comes in the wake a of school burning wave that has been on the rise since the schools reopened earlier this year.
A similar case was seen at Farther Simon Secondary School in Busia namable sub-county. The students organized a riot after some missed meals at the school siting some teachers selling foodstuffs meant for the students.
Lugulu Girls in Bungoma also saw student walk out over what they claimed was defilement of one of their colleague. Police intervened and launched investigation in the raised concern and the school closed.
