Mike Sonko Grilled and jailed for one night by the DCI

Mike Sonko (Former Nairobi Governor) was on Monday questioned concerning his public confession that he planned 2017 poll chaos. He is to be charged in court on Tuesday after spending the night behind bars.

Sonko showed up at the DCI a week after the Interior PS made a complaint accusing him of defamation.

Mr. Kibicho in his complaint insisted that Sonko had admitted to committing a crime. Likewise he ought to face the law just like everyone else.

He presented himself after his application to stop his grilling was thrown out by the high Court on Monday.

Sonko has continually alleged that he and the Interior PS Karanja Kibicho planned chaos after the disputed 2017 polls. This was said in a rally in Dagoretti after which Kibicho came out saying he had had enough.

In a statement Kibicho said that now the burden of proof rested on Sonko’s shoulders urging the DCI to act.

Kibicho went on to say that he went to the DCI to record a statement against Sonko and initiate the process of getting his rights as a Kenyan.
