Lewis Hamilton, 35, has equaled Michael Schumacher’s record of seven world titles. Hamilton is known for being victorious since he becoming a Formula One racer. His latest victory is achieving an equal amount of world titles same as Schumacher’s.
Hamilton, with ease, won the race at Istanbul Park, ahead of teammate Valtteri Bottas. He therefore secured the fourth title after starting at the sixth position. Also, he exceeded Schumacher’s all-time record of 91 Grand Prix wins. The successful racer had broken the German’s career pole-positions record a long time ago.
In an interview with a local radio station, he advised children that they can do the impossible and he believes in them.
Even though he is a brilliant driver of all-time, there were emerging questions to whether he’ll win in Turkey. He had poor practice and qualifying sessions during the weekend. With the wet conditions, Hamilton’s car tires have eventually proved pivotal. Hamilton took great control halfway through the race.
Afterward, Hamilton proved victorious by winning the race. With tears in his eyes, he hugged his team telling Sky Sports he is “lost for words.”
Many racers had the idea that Schumacher’s record could not be broken. Lewis Hamilton is thankful to his team and family for sticking around. In addition, he tells Sky Sports he dreamed of winning the race when young and what he has achieved is more than his dreams.
Sports stars and drivers globally are sending him congratulatory messages. Some like Rio Ferdinand and Nico Rosberg took to Twitter to congratulate the racer.
Sergio Perez completed the race 31 seconds after Lewis Hamilton while Sebastian Vettel came in third. The 14th racer was Bottas who finished with no points. Bottas is considered a ‘threat’ to Hamilton but losing the race shows how good and talented Hamilton is.
According to statistics, Hamilton has won four races in a row and 10 races out of 14 this year. The champion racer is the first and only black world champion since its 70-year history and has been the most successful on track.
During an interview, Hamilton says he’s only getting started and he feels physically and mentally well.
