Kenya Airways Honours Angella Okutoyi In Style After Wimbledon Win.

Tennis winner Angela Okutoyi received a surprise from Kenya Airways (KQ) following her victory at Wimbledon.

On Monday, 18-year-old Okutoyi, who made history by being the first Kenyan woman to win a junior match at the Australian Open, was transported back to her home country on a KQ business class flight.

Tennis Kenya had asked the airline to upgrade her to business class prior to this.
The flight attendant drew everyone’s attention to Okutoyi and thanked her for representing Kenya with pride.

Cakes and champagne bottles were placed on the aircraft after landing to host a mini-party for the Wimbledon champion.

“Karibu nyumbani @Okutoyiangella2 .Ladies and gentleman, the Kenyan queen of tennis is here!” KQ wrote in a tweet.

Amina Mohamed, Cabinet Secretary for Sports, and other top Ministry of Sports officials gave the tennis champion a warm welcome.

Following an outstanding Wimbledon performance with Dutch partner Rose Marie Nijkamp, Okutoyi made a triumphant comeback.

To win the Australian open, they defeated Canadian Kayla Cross and Victoria Mboko by a score of two sets to one.
