Fred Matiang’i issued a warning to those who hold ‘disco matanga’s’ saying they are the major contributors to teenage pregnancies currently.

During his inspection in Trans Nzoia, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, issued a warning to the local administrators saying there is an increase of teenage pregnancies in the county.
Matiang’i noted that Trans Nzoia is leading in terms of early pregnancies with over 10,000 teenagers who are expectant.
As he addressed the local administrators concerning the government projects, he did not fail to mention that all expectant students should return to school. In addition, he says that it is a government policy that all students report back to school.
Similarly, teachers will work together with the local leaders to make certain that every child remains in school.
‘Disco Matanga’
The interior CS noted that ‘disco matanga’s’ are the main cause for the early pregnancies. He therefore directed all the local administrators to arrest anyone who will hold a disco matanga. Additionally, any equipment found in the disco matanga’s will be confiscated.
“We are not joking about this. We cannot have our children being misused like that,” Dr. Matiang’i warns.
Furthermore, he noted that the early pregnancy cases rose following the outbreak of the Covid-19 which led to closure of schools for almost a year.
