The court found the five involved in the burning of one of their school’s dormitory on February 2021 thus leaving over 30 metallic beds and students properties destroyed.

Among destroyed items are students’ personal items valued at Ksh4 million and metallic beds worth over Ksh2 million.

However, appearing before the Senior Resident Magistrate Ken Odhiambo, the five denied the charges ruled against them hence were released. Ken Odhiambo allowed the five to be released on a bond of Ksh200, 000 or a cash bail of similar amount.

According to the Investigation Officer, Dennis Sailel, told the court that four students will testify against the five students.

Additionally, the case will be heard on February 9, 2021 as they wait for the final ruling while investigations continue.

On other news, one student was arrested for killing the school guard while a Form Two student was also arrested after he was caught on CCTV camera. The student was lighting a section of the dormitory on fire at around 8pm. Fortunately, no student was hurt.
