Five students from St. Mary’s Karumandi Boys High School in Kirinyaga County have been charged with destruction of property worth Ksh6 million.

The court found the five involved in the burning of one of their school’s dormitory on February 2021 thus leaving over 30 metallic beds and students properties destroyed.
Among destroyed items are students’ personal items valued at Ksh4 million and metallic beds worth over Ksh2 million.
However, appearing before the Senior Resident Magistrate Ken Odhiambo, the five denied the charges ruled against them hence were released. Ken Odhiambo allowed the five to be released on a bond of Ksh200, 000 or a cash bail of similar amount.
