Eldoret-Webuye Highway: Two killed, one injured in gruesome accident

Two people were killed while one was seriously injured in a Monday morning accident along the Eldoret-Webuye highway.

According to police reports, the three, who were in private car, knocked a tractor which was transporting poles.

The Eldoret West OCPD, Edward Masibo, says the two of the passengers died immediately while the third passenger was rushed to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

In addition, the poles had gone through the windshield of the car thus causing instant death of the two passengers.

Bodies of the deceased were transported to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary in Eldoret as they wait for relatives to claim the bodies.

The accident occurred at the Maili Tisa interchange on the Eldoret-Webuye highway at dawn.

Police officers launched a man-hunt for the driver of the tractor who is said to have disappeared after the accident.
