Drogba: Retired footballer announces separation from wife

Drogba has finally cleared the rumors that were circulating on the internet concerning his marriage. The retired footballer announced he separated with his wife after 20 years of being together.

Didier Drogba was forced by his fans on social media to clarify if he is still married or whether he separated with wife, Lalla Diakite. Didier and Lalla tied the knot in June 12, 2011 in Monaco with a few selected guests.

He and Lalla are blessed with three adorable children; Kierian, Isaac, and Iman.

“I will confirm that unfortunately after 20 years of being together Lalla and I made the difficult decision to separate last year,” he announced on his social media page.

His fans were however sad about the separation even though most suspected they were long separated.

He briefly concluded that they remain very close and their main goal was their children; protecting them and maintaining privacy within the family.
