COVID-19: Kenya records 236 new cases with 4 deaths

The Ministry has announced the current totality in Covid-19 cases in Kenya. A number of 236 new cases have been recorded whereas, four succumbed to the virus.

According to the 3,773 samples taken in the last 24 hours, the total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 is 95,431 after 236 tested positive.

A total of 211 are Kenyans while 25 are foreigners. Additionally, the youngest to test positive is a three-year-old child and the oldest is 85 years.

Mutahi Kagwe, the Health CS, says 212 patients have recovered bringing the total recoveries in the country to 76,720. 173 of those who have recovered were on a Home Based Care Program while 39 were from various hospitals within Kenya.

Kagwe, in addition, says that four who had the virus have succumbed to the Covid-19 bringing the total fatalities to 1,652.

Areas with positive cases

According the Ministry of Health, Nairobi has 99 positive cases with Kibra, Dagoretti North, and Westlands leading with high positivity.

Mombasa has 49 cases with Mvita being the highest in the County having 23 positive coronavirus cases.

Kitui has 23 cases while Kakamega has 7. Nakuru and Kiambu each have 6 cases. Kisumu, Migori and Busia have 5 cases each. Murang’a has 4 cases whereas, Kisii, Vihiga, and Kajiado each has 3 cases.

Additionally, Siaya, Makueni, Tharaka Nithi, Machakos, Taita Taveta, and Meru each have 2 positive cases.

Furthermore, Kilifi, Trans Nzoia, Homa Bay, Bungoma, and Nyamira each reported one positive case.
