Coronavirus cases: 112 new cases recorded

Coronavirus cases continue to rise in Kenya as 112 new infections have been recorded in the past 24 hours.

Currently Kenya’s Coronavirus cases are at 96, 251 with 1,667 total deaths since March.

Mutahi Kagwe says 3,327 samples were taken in the last 24 hours and from the samples, 112 tested positive for the virus.

The total tests done in Kenya are 1,041,679.

The youngest to test positive for the virus is a three-year-old while the oldest is 84-year-old.

Out of the positive tests, 69 were male and 43 were female. Similarly, 98 were Kenyans but 14 were foreigners.

In terms of recovery, 816 patients have recovered with 798 from the home-based care program and 18 were from various hospitals countrywide. The total recovery in the country is 78,475.

Likewise, 30 patients are in the ICU while 12 are on supplementary oxygen and 2 are on observation.

However, two patients succumbed to the coronavirus.

In terms of distribution of the coronavirus cases worldwide, Nairobi is leading with 53 cases, Mombasa 23, Kilifi 7, Bungoma 7, Kakamega 7, Kisumu 2, Kajiado 2, Busia 2, Lamu 2, Kiambu 1, Siaya 1, Nakuru 1, Machakos 1, Uasin Gishu 1, Kwale 1, Nyeri 1
