CONFIRMED. IEBC CLEARS 38 INDEPENDENT PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANTS

It is now  a relief  for 38 independent presidential candidates as three time aspirant Nazlin Umar and Reuben Kigame come at the top of the list after being being cleared by IEBC.

The door is now opened for the candidates to present themselves to IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati who is the Returning Officer for the presidential election to have their nominations verified. This comes just in less than three months to election.

“IEBC gives notice to the public that the public that the person listed have submitted their symbols and expressed intention to contest as independent candidates for the General Election to be held on 9th Aughust, 2022 and are required to present themselves to the respective returning officer,” Chebukati stated

The IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati also said, those candidates who will not meet requirements according to the law will not be allowed to vie come 9th aughust 2022.

Stephen Owoko, Gorge Kamau , Paul Muriugi, Njenga Kinyanjui, Esther Waringa, Duncan Otieno and Kariuki Kingori are reported  to have commenced consensus talk under the synod.
