Dr. Alfred Mutua shames politicians for talking politics during the burial of Machakos Senator Boniface Kabaka.
Senator Kabaka died while receiving treatment in a hospital in Nairobi. He had been admitted to the ICU a week earlier.
During the burial proceedings, politicians kept making political speeches disregarding the fallen politician. Kabaka’s family requested to mourn in peace but their plea was ignored as the bickering over the BBI and political rivalry went on.
The politicians did not fail to mention the BBI as they continued to confront each other on political matters. The talks went on for hours without end as the family of Kabaka and the present clergy watched the talks helplessly.
However, Dr. Alfred Mutua had had enough and rose to the occasion to denounce the politicians for their respect to Senator Kabaka and his family. He asked the leaders whether they imagine the pain a grieving family endures when they talk politics during burials.
Mutua additionally apologized to the family of Kabaka for the embarrassment caused by the politicians.
The Machakos Governor took to twitter to express his disappointment. According to Mutua, funerals run until nighttime because politicians use funerals to play political games.
“If you want politics in a funeral, then DIE so that it is YOUR funeral that is being used for Siasa,” he advises politicians.
He also added saying, “Some Kenyan politicians have BAD MANNERS. I find it despicable, arrogant and insensitive the way Kenyan politicians dominate funerals with political chest thumping while family members who have been bereaved suffer.”
