Acting Nairobi Governor makes first Cabinet reshuffle

Acting Nairobi Governor, Benson Mutura, has carried out his first cabinet reshuffle days after being sworn in following the ouster of previous Governor Mike Sonko.

The reshuffle has seen Ms. Janet Ouko re-appointed as County Executive Officer for Education replacing Ms. Lucia Mulwa.

Other appointed members include Mr. Brian Weke (former parliamentary aspirant) who was appointed as the Legal Advisor to the Office of the Governor. In addition, Jairus Musumba is appointed as the County Secretary while Paul Mutungi is appointed the Chief of Staff

December 21, 2020 saw Benson Mutura sworn in as the acting Governor of Nairobi with the promise to reinstate important service delivery that had failed due to the lack of assension by the previous governor of Finance Bill 2020.

Mike Sonko was impeached in December by the county assembly over a number of charges including gross violation of the law.
